On Monday 2 November 2026, the opening day of Paris InfraWeek, FAST-Infra Group and the Africa Infrastructure Fellowship Programme are co-hosting a late-afternoon session titled “Making Resilience Investable: from resilience metrics to investment decisions”. It starts at 17:00, runs for about an hour and a half, and is followed by networking.
The premise is simple. Everyone in infrastructure now agrees that physical climate risk has to be priced, and most development banks, insurers and asset managers have a resilience framework of some kind. What very few of them have is a clear line from a resilience assessment to a change in an investment decision: a different tenor, a different premium, a project reaching financial close that otherwise would not have. That line is what the session is about.
We will look at three questions. First, what resilience metrics are actually being used by lenders and insurers today, as opposed to published in guidance documents. Second, where those metrics change terms, and where they are collected and then ignored. Third, what a label or standard such as the FAST-Infra Sustainable Infrastructure Label can do to make resilience data comparable enough to be useful across a portfolio, particularly in the African markets where the AIFP works.
If you are attending InfraWeek and work on climate risk, guarantees, insurance or infrastructure investment in emerging markets, I would be glad to see you there. Registration is through the InfraWeek programme; feel free to get in touch if you would like an introduction to any of the speakers. I will post the full line-up here once it is confirmed.
