Reflections on COP30 in Belém: Infrastructure, Innovation, and Action

Returning from COP30 in Belém, I am struck by how central sustainable infrastructure has become to the climate transition. Across energy, transport, cities, and digital systems, the focus has clearly shifted from ambition to delivery. At a panel hosted by the International Development Finance Club, we explored how sustainability standards like the FAST Infra Label, combined with digital tools, are helping de risk investment, strengthen transparency, and unlock capital at scale. Set against the powerful backdrop of the Amazon, COP30 was a clear reminder that the foundations we build today will shape both climate outcomes and development for decades to come.
